The Socioenvironmental issue and the Challenges of Social Work

O presente artigo é constitutivo do escopo teórico da pesquisa de doutorado em andamento e tem por objetivo abordar a crise socioambiental contemporânea, reforçando as contradições do capitalismo que produz de forma ilimitada, mercantiliza a natureza e coisifica o homem. Atrelada a esta questão, discute-se a importância da inserção do Assistente Social na área socioambiental e os desafios que emergem a este profissional. Por fim, o artigo problematiza as concepções hegemônicas em torno da crise socioambiental e reforça a necessidade do Serviço Social, que integra o conjunto de profissionais demandados a intervir na questão socioambiental, qualificar sua inserção neste debate.

Title: The Socioenvironmental issue and the Challenges of Social Work

This article is constitutive of the theoretical scope of the doctoral research in progress and its objective is to address the contemporary socio-environmental crisis, reinforcing the contradictions of capitalism that produces in an unlimited way, mercantile nature, and objectifies man. Linked to this issue, we discuss the importance of the insertion of the Social Work in the socio-environmental area and the challenges that emerge from this professional. Finally, the article problematizes the hegemonic conceptions surrounding the socio-environmental crisis and reinforces the need for the Social Work, which integrates the set of professionals demanded to intervene in the socio-environmental issue, to qualify its insertion in this debate.
