À luz da legislação vigente no Brasil, na segunda metade do século XX, relativa ao trabalho do “menor”, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo proceder à análise dos processos de reclamação trabalhista encaminhados, no período de 1964 a 1983, à Junta de Conciliação e Julgamento (JCJ) de Vitória da Conquista (BA) por crianças e jovens trabalhadores rurais de diversos municípios de abrangência da JCJ. A partir dos processos impetrados por pequenos trabalhadores rurais, que, após a demissão, por meio de seus representantes legais, desafiaram os ex-patrões impetrando ações pelo cumprimento da legislação trabalhista, busca-se elucidar as bases legais das reclamações apresentadas, bem como os relatos e discursos dos reclamantes, dos juízes e advogados envolvidos nos processos.

Title: Rural child/youth labor, law and justice in southwest of Bahia (Brazil)

Under the light of current legislation in Brazil in the second half of the twentieth century on the work of “minor”, this study aims to examine the processes of labor complaint started in period of 1964 to 1983 in Junta de Conciliação e Julgamento (JCJ) of Vitória da Conquista by rural children and young workers of various municipalities
scope of the JCJ. From the lawsuits filed by small rural workers, who, after the resignation, through their legal representatives, challenged the former bosses claiming the enforcement of labor laws, this research aims to clarify the legal basis of claims, as well the reports and speeches of the plaintiffs, judges and lawyers involved in the processes.
