Between the diffuse and the occult: the fight against sexual exploitation of children and teenagers within the CREAS

Este trabalho tem como temática de investigação o fenômeno da Exploração Sexual e Comercial de Crianças e Adolescentes (ESCCA) e os serviços de atendimento às vítimas no âmbito da política de assistência, tendo por referência uma pesquisa realizada em cinco CREAS (Centro de Referência Especializado da Assistência Social) no município do Rio de Janeiro. Buscou-se caracterizar as estratégias de enfrentamento ao fenômeno, problematizando os desafios encontrados. Através de tal pesquisa identificou-se que, embora o fenômeno tenha passado por um processo de politização inegável, alcançando maior visibilidade, seu enfrentamento ainda encontra dificuldades no que tange à invisibilidade no campo da intervenção.

Title: Between the diffuse and the occult: the fight against sexual exploitation of children and teenagers within the CREAS

The research theme of this work is the phenomenon of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and the assistance to victim services as part of welfare policy, with reference to a survey conducted in five CREAS (Specialized Reference Center on Social Assistance) in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. We sought to characterize the coping strategies to the phenomenon, discussing the challenges encountered. Through such research it was identified that, although the phenomenon has undergone a process of undeniable politicization and it has achieved greater visibility, it still faces difficulties when it comes to invisibility in the field of intervention.
