From domestic work to higher education: the struggle of black workingwomen for the right to higher education

Na sociedade Brasileira, o lugar dos homens e mulheres negros nunca foi na escola, mas na lavoura, na casa grande, na senzala, nas ruas ou quando rebelde, na prisão. Assim, o direitodos negros, em especial, das mulheres negras à educação no Brasil foi fruto de lutas travadas pelos Movimentos Negros. Assim sendo, esse artigo visa refletir sobre as lutas das mulheres negras pela educação no Brasil, tendo como pressuposto que a educação da mulher negra foi preterida pelo poder público e pela sociedade, no interior da própria classe trabalhadora e que somente foi possível pela prossecução das ações afirmativas.

In Brazilian society, the place of black men and women has never been in school, but in farming, in the big house, in the slave quarters, in the streets or when rebellious, in prison. Thus, the rights of blacks, especially black women to education in Brazil, were the result of struggles waged by Black Movements. Thus, this article aims to reflect on thestruggles of black women for education in Brazil, assuming that the education of black women was deprecated by public power and by society, within the working class itself and which was only possible by pursuing Affirmative actions.
