Building discourses that build subjects? A debate about the contribution ofLaw 10.639/2003 to the fight against racism

O referido artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre os entraves e possibilidades de efetivação da Lei 10.639/03, que institui o ensino obrigatório da História e Cultura Afro-brasileira e africana no Ensino Fundamental. Debate-se principalmente de que forma a educação para as relações étnico-raciais podem ser primordiais no combate ao racismo no Brasil. Para isso, utiliza-se como campo de pesquisa o projeto “A cor da cultura”, que resultade uma parceria entre iniciativas públicas e privadas para a capacitação na temática.

Title: Building discourses that build subjects? A debate about the contribution of Law 10.639/2003 to the fight against racism

The article aims to reflect on the obstacles and possibilities of effective Law 10.639/03, which establishes the compulsory education of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture in Elementary School. It is mainly debated how education for ethnic-racial relations can be paramount in the fight against racism in Brazil. To this end, the “The color ofculture” project is used as a research field, resulting from a partnership between public and private initiatives for training in the theme.
