For a integral theory of hegemony. A contribution from the Latin American experience

A partir fenômenos sociais recentes na América Latina, o artigo discute a possibilidade de readequar algumas ferramentas conceituais do pensamento de esquerda sobre a base da obra de Antonio Gramsci. Neste sentido, sugere-se o tratamento da teoria da hegemonia gramsciana como Teoria integral”, propondo uma trama teórica específica a partir da elaboração do comunista italiano. Esta “concepção integral da hegemonia” é tomada como base teórica para pensar os novos processos de economia solidária na América Latina, como forma da disputa hegemônica entre a economia política do capital e a economia política do trabalho, na direção da construção de uma “esfera produtiva social” que dispute o sentido social do trabalho e a vida produtiva; esta operação teórica e política leva, no texto, à discussão de certos “obstáculos teóricos” herdados da tradição marxista. Finalmente, partindo da ideia de que os agentes da transformação se constituem no processo de construção hegemônica, se discute a questão dos sujeitos da transformação social e algumas dimensões do projeto socialista e se sugere várias direções centrais da luta pela hegemonia.

Title: For a integral theory of hegemony. A contribution from the Latin American experience

From recent social phenomenals in Latin America, the article discusses the possibility of readjust some conceptual tools of thought of the left on the basis of the work of Antonio Gramsci. So, it is suggested the treatment of Gramscian theory about hegemony as a “integral theory”, proposing a theoretical specific plot from the drafiting of the italian comunist. This “integral conception of hegemony” is used as a theoretical basis for thinking the new processes of solidarity economy in Latin America, as a way of the hegemonic dispute between the political economy of capital and the political economy of work, towards the construction of a “productive social sphere” that dispute the social sense of work and productive life; this theoretical and political operation leads to the discussion in the text of certain “theoretical obstacles” inherited from the Marxist tradition. Finally, starting from the idea that processing agents are in the process of hegemonic construction, we discussed the question of the subjects of social transformation and some dimensions of the socialist project and we suggest several directions of the struggle for hegemony.
