Child labor: study of the particularities and contradictions in the rivers of Marajó/PA

O presente artigo traz algumas reflexões sobre o trabalho infantil, que crianças e adolescentes realizam no Rio Tajapurú, no município de Breves, no arquipélago do Marajó, tanto nos navios como nas casas dos ribeirinhos, enfatizando as particularidades e as contradições que estão submetidos. A teoria social que o fundamenta é a teoria social de Karl Marx e o método é materialismo histórico e dialético. É resultado de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que contou com a utilização de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Recorreu-se às produções acadêmicas, como dissertações e teses, bem como as experiências próprias vividas enquanto professora na UFPA. A pesquisa constatou que a realidade das crianças trabalhadoras em Breves, tanto nos rios, quanto na zona rural ou na cidade reflete a desvalorização da infância e da adolescência marajoara e uma profunda violação dos seus direitos humanos fundamentais, pois estão submetidas as piores formas de trabalho infantil.

Title: Child labor: study of the particularities and contradictions in the rivers of Marajó/PA

This article presents some reflections on the child labor that children and adolescents perform in the river Tajapurú, in the municipality of Breves, in the archipelago of Marajó, both in ships and in the houses of the riverside, emphasizing the peculiarities and the contradictions that are submitted. It is the result of a qualitative research, which counted on the use of semi-structured interviews. It was used to the academic productions, like dissertations and theses as well as her experience as a teacher at UFPA. The survey found that the reality of working children in Breves, both in rivers, rural areas and in the city, reflects the devaluation of Marajoara childhood and adolescence and a profound violation of their fundamental human rights, as they are subjected to the worst forms of work.
