Este texto aborda a autorrepresentação da comunidade a partir da produção audiovisual feita por jovens moradores de favelas do Rio de Janeiro. O estudo tem como objeto filmes produzidos por alunos do Núcleo de Audiovisual da Central Única de Favelas (CUFA) - Cidade de Deus e da Escola de Artes Spectacullu.

Title: The self-representation of the favelas: the perspectives of young filmmakers

This paper analyzes the notion of self-representation of low income communities through the audiovisual production of young people living in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. The study is based on the analysis of short movies produced by students at CUFA (Audiovisual Center of a Coalition of Slums) and the School of Arts Spectacullu.
