O desenvolvimento das tecnologias proporcionou um prolongamento significativo na perspectiva de vida das pessoas com condições crônicas complexas de saúde, bem como trouxe à tona novas possibilidades de cuidado. A atenção domiciliar como uma proposta inserida na política de saúde vem se configurando como alternativa ao modelo hospitalar hegemônico num movimento que consideramos contraditório. Se por um lado pode favorecer os usuários dos serviços, por outro pode sobrecarregar as famílias que aderem a esse tipo de programa. The development of technologies has provided a significant prolongation of the life expectancy of people with complex chronic health conditions and has brought new possibilities of care to the fore. Home care as a proposal inserted in health policy is becoming an alternative to the hegemonic hospital model in a movement that we consider contradictory. If on the one hand it can favor the users of the services, on the other it can overwhelm the families that adhere to this type of program. Therefore, in this article we intend to reflect on some elements of this contradiction.
