Determinants and meanings of social work in health

Neste artigo objetiva-se discutir o trabalho do/a assistente social na área da saúde por meio de investigações referentes à rotina de trabalho e ações profissionais. Além disso, propõe analisar como a configuração e as determinações político-institucionais, nesta área de atuação, incidem particularmente sobre o trabalho dos/as assistentes sociais. Recorre ao método dialético como perspectiva teórico-metodológica e, metodologicamente, a revisão bibliográfica e pesquisa de campo. Esta última, contou com aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa e foi realizada com 07 assistentes sociais supervisores de estágio e que atuam em municípios das regiões Norte, Noroeste Fluminense e Sul Capixaba.

Title: Determinants and meanings of social work in health

This article aims to discuss the work of the social worker in the health area, through investigations related to work routine and professional actions. In addition, it proposes to analyze how the configuration and the political-institutional determinations, in this area of activity, particularly affect the work of social workers. It uses the dialectical method as a theoretical-methodological perspective and, methodologically, the literature review and field research. The latter was approved by the Research Ethics Committee and was conducted with 07 internship supervising social workers who work in municipalities of the North, Northwest Fluminense and South Capixaba regions.
