The Human Right to Water in Mexico. An analysis from the perspective of governance and political projects

El presente texto parte de la premisa que para materializar el derecho humano al agua se tiene que asumir como un asunto de política democrática, alejada del proyecto privatizador dominante en el sector de agua potable y saneamiento (SAPS) en América Latina. Tiene por objeto explicar de manera breve tanto lo referente al derecho humano al agua, como los factores y características que lo determinan frente a una disputa entre proyectos políticos rivales.

Title: The Human Right to Water in Mexico. An analysis from the perspective of governance and political projects

This paper starts from the premise that to realize the human right to water has to take from the perspective of democratic politics, which is remote key privatization project in the sector of water and sanitation (SAPS) in Latin America. Also our object is to explain briefly both respect the human right to water, as the factors and characteristics that determine front of a dispute between rival political projects.
